Basingstoke Pregnancy Crisis Centre serves Newbury, Hook, Overton, Fleet, Whitchurch, and Farnborough in the North Hampshire area, offering support to both women and men who face difficult decisions due to an unplanned pregnancy. We also offer help after abortion, miscarriage or other baby-loss.
Our main aim is to give women an opportunity to talk with someone who has time to listen, in order to give them the chance to work out their own best way forward. Our services are completely confidential, supportive and free-of-cost.
The centre offers a free and confidential service for:
- pregnancy tests with immediate results
- counselling and accurate information for unplanned pregnancy which gives you time to look at
all your options and talk through your feelings
- pre-abortion counselling giving you the opportunity to get information, ask questions
and talk through your decision
- post-abortion help and support for those who have had a difficult experience and struggle
with unexpected emotions
- help and support for women coping with feelings of grief and emptiness following
miscarriage or baby loss
- pre and post-adoption support for those considering an adoption plan
- support is also offered to partners and family
You can drop in at the times listed below or call to make an appointment outside of these hours.
The Basingstoke Centre has been open for over 20 years. The service is provided by trained advisors.
The Centre also has a comprehensive schools' programme called 'Choices', visiting many of the local schools and colleges as part of the PSHE curriculum. Lessons include crisis pregnancy and abortion, sexually transmitted infections, and relationships.
Basingstoke Pregnancy Crisis Centre was established in 1985 and became a registered charity [number 1063415] in 1997.
