I am still at school doing my G.C.S.E’s and am scared of what my mum will say to me.

I took 2 pregnancy tests the other day and it came back positive. I am scared. I am still at school doing my G.C.S.E’s and am scared of what my mum will say to me. My boyfriend doesn't know but am not bothered about him at the moment. I just want to know how to tell my mum and dad. I live with my mum and we are not as close as we were 6 months ago. We fell out over my boyfriend but we are all right now. I don’t know what to do. Can any one out there tell me what to do? But I want to keep it. Plz plz plz, some one tell me what to do. Plz.

Editor’s note: It sounds from your message that you do want to tell your mum and dad. If you can say confidently that your mum and dad love you despite all the difficulties you have had, then maybe you feel you can trust that they will still love you in this situation. They may be angry at first – at your boyfriend or you – but they are most likely, in the long run, to prefer it if you told them.

If you don’t feel confident, then tell another adult you trust, such as a teacher, social worker or other responsible adult so that they can help you. It is important that you tell a responsible adult you trust as soon as possible, particularly as you are a teenager. This will take courage, I know. We'll be thinking of you.

We are not able to refer directly for termination. We offer clients information on all the options and are well resourced to provide both immediate and long term support as necessary, directing to other agencies as appropriate.
