The father of this baby does not want it and would like me to get an abortion.

I am 18 years old and I am in my freshman year of college. I ended up being with this guy and things got physical. Well a few weeks later, I did not get my period. I was pregnant. The father of this baby does not want it and would like me to get an abortion. I am strongly against abortion. My family and my friends are all very supportive of my decision of keeping this baby. The father on the other hand, wants nothing to do with me, or this baby. He promised he will never be there to help or anything. He also has been denying the baby when I am 100% sure it is his. I have tried everything, being nice to him, trying to talk, being mean, ignoring him. I just don't know what to do anymore. The best thing I can do, is focus on myself and this unborn child. I know I will get through this very hard situation, and hope that one day, the baby's father will grow up and come through for me. This won't be easy to do but I know I am strong enough to do this and I am doing it for myself. I hope that someone understands what I am going through. No one should ever have to feel like this, but it is something that many people go through. Good Luck to you others, hope everything ends well!

Editor's Comment:-

Thank you for sharing your very brave story. I am so sorry that the father of your baby has turned his back on you, and refused to take any responsibility. It is not easy to be a single Mum not knowing whether the baby's father will have a change of heart. I'm glad you have supportive family and friends who will always be there for you. It is important to do what is right for you, and if you are strongly against abortion then you would suffer mentally and emotionally if you went against your core values and beliefs. I hope that in time you will be glad about your decision and feel that being a Mum brings its own joys and fulfillment. If you need more support please contact our national helpline 0800 028 2228
