Abortion can be highly distressing for both women and men

Women’s and men’s concerns about the decision and the abortion were very similar. After abortion, 18% of the men believed that the abortion had a negative impact on their relationships with their partners and 30% said they would have liked to have been offered counseling. The men were not asked specific questions concerning their psychological response to abortion therefore little information was obtained to explain the male psychological experience in any depth.
