He insisted on abortion.

I'm 17 years old and earlier this year I had an abortion.

It was the worst decision I ever made.

My boyfriend and I had been together for 2 and a half years and our future had come up into discussion many times and we talked about how we both wanted a family and everything else in the future. So when I told him I was pregnant and he insisted on an abortion, I was devastated. I understand it's a silly thing to talk about at such a young age. My reasoning for the abortion was that my family was moving away to a different country and in order for me to keep my child, I'd have had to move with them, meaning my baby would never see it's father and I would never see the love of my life.

I had the abortion and that's when the nightmares started

I won't go into detail but they're horrific and traumatising. And they happen every night. My boyfriend actually cheated on me recently and told me he no longer wanted me, I can't help but regret the abortion more. As the only reason I had the abortion was to stay in the country and stay with him. I want nothing more than to have my baby back. All I can say is, if there is any doubt in your mind, don't have an abortion. Follow you're heart.

Editor's Comment

Nightmares are not uncommon after abortion and sometime indicate the turmoil within you when you made the decision. It sounds as though your boyfriend insisting on abortion put you under immense pressure, and the decision to abort was one that you did not feel comfortable with. It is very sad to find that your reason for the abortion is no longer there. I would advise you to seek help because I think that the nightmares are indicating to you the trauma that is going on in your subconscious.
