Pregnancy Helpline is open every evening between 7pm and 10pm, including bank holidays, and between 10am and 2pm Monday-Friday, during term-time only.
About Us
Pregnancy Helpline is a telephone counselling service, networking pregnancy centres in the Manchester area. We offer: Free pregnancy tests - we will arrange a free pregnancy test that gives the result within 10 minutes. Confidential counselling - we are here to provide space and time for you to explore your feelings and consider your way forward. Help after abortion - we offer a programme of post-abortion recovery called The Journey used successfully across the country. Pregnancy Helpline started in Tameside in 1996, but in 2004 relaunched to network centres across the Manchester area - Central and South Manchester, Stretford, Salford, Leigh, Bolton, Oldham and Tameside. All the workers are trained volunteers who meet regularly with a qualified counselling supervisor. Pregnancy Helpline works with a code of ethics (available on request), has a complaints procedure and is run by image, a registered charity. We do not act as an abortion referral agency.
