CareConfidential.com is a web portal that promotes the National Helpline (also called CareConfidential) and the Online Advisor secure web based counselling service.
CareConfidential.com, the National Helpline and the Online Advisor system are all managed by CareConfidential which was established in the early 1990’s to network and resource the caring work of a growing number of affiliated but independently-run crisis pregnancy and post-abortion counselling centres across the UK.
CareConfidential is concerned about the welfare of women and their partners in relation to pregnancy and pregnancy loss, including abortion. CareConfidential has nearly 20 years’ experience of helping these centres to support women and their partners with crisis pregnancy and post-abortion concerns.
CareConfidential does not own or manage any of these centres. Each centre is accountable to and governed by its own trustees or management board. CareConfidential does not financially support any centre.
The Helpline and the Online Advisor system provide counselling and support services, not medical services. They are not abortion providers nor linked to any abortion providers.
The Helpline and Online Advisor system aim to give a respectful and compassionate service to all who need counselling support. We will refer, if appropriate, to a local crisis pregnancy and post-abortion counselling centre for face to face support.
CareConfidential recognises the value of each individual and do not discriminate against anyone on grounds of disability, race, religion, sexual orientation, gender or age.
CareConfidential training
All advisors on the Helpline and Online Advisor service are trained in accordance with the recognised Called to Care crisis pregnancy counselling training programme, the ‘Journey’ post-abortion recovery programme as well as in telephone and online counselling skills. All advisors are experienced and supervised. They undergo ongoing training and development.
Funding
CareConfidential, the Helpline and CareConfidential.com are funded partly by donations and trust funds. The web portal is also supported by subscriptions from the network of crisis pregnancy and post-abortion counselling centres.
